Life Beyond a Label:  Help to Accept Medical Limitations

Living with illness and health conditions is complex, and seeking support to help you navigate your experiences is important. I offer different treatment options to help you cope with challenging experiences, improve your well-being, and find meaning and joy in life again. You may be looking for a counselling approach to help you understand and process your health issues and how they may affect your quality of life. Together, we would: • Work through anger, fear, and grief around the diagnosis and treatment. • Process the trauma that led to your injury or disability. • Find ways to look beyond your condition and not be defined by it. • Adopt a proactive attitude to promote self-awareness and self-management. • Explore how you communicate your needs and feelings. • Find ways to experience mutual respect in relationships, especially with those who care for you. Perhaps you have already worked through many of these areas and are ready to learn how to build and maintain good mental health while coping with physical challenges. In that case, you may prefer a Life Coaching approach to achieve your goals, which may include: • Adapting to physical restrictions or life transitions. • Learning how to be more attuned to your body. • Learning how to manage physical aspects of your condition. • Learning to accept aging and mortality. • Rebuilding your identity and self-esteem, especially if you have body image issues. • Practising stress reduction and mindfulness techniques. Life Coaching is different from counselling. While there is overlap, Life Coaching is about approaching your life and health from a different angle, we focus on crafting actionable plans to help you live the life you want. How Does Life Coaching Work? Life Coaching entails meaningful conversations and purposeful exercises designed to clarify your goals, navigate obstacles, and develop strategies. As your life coach, I provide guidance, support, and a healthy dose of accountability. Together, we'll make positive changes in your physical and mental health. You may not be the same person you once were, but with the right support, the “upgraded version" of you will be so much more!
