Counselling Support for Anxiety, Stress & Overwhelm

on the Tweed Coast

Feel grounded and capable in the face of anxiety and overwhelm

What if it doesn't
always have to feel so heavy

That's where counselling can help. Anxiety, chronic stress and burnout can leave you feeling trapped in a constant state of tension. In our work together, we start by creating safety and ways to settle your mind and body, so you're not facing these moments alone. From there we explore what's beneath the worry, stress or tension, and develop responses that bring more ease, choice, and self-trust into daily life — both in the calm and the challenging moments.

MY APPROACH

My approach combines insight and compassion to your experience of anxiety, stress, or overwhelm. We'll explore how it may have taken root — whether through unresolved grief, unhelpful beliefs, early experiences, or difficult life transitions — and develop strategies to support you in moving beyond its grip.   I use an integrative approach, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities tailored to your unique needs. This flexibility honours your personal journey and recognises that no two relationships with anxiety or stress are the same. Our work together will support your emotional wellbeing and help you feel more grounded and capable of responding to life's challenges in ways that reflect your strengths and your values.  Our first step often begins with narrative therapy's externalising technique, which offers a gentle, protective space to explore what's going on — how worry, stress or overwhelm shows up, and what it asks of you. Seeing it as separate from you allows room for curiousity and compassion instead of fear or self-blame. This shift in perspective helps reduce emotional overwhelm and opens the door to deeper understanding of the patterns, beliefs, and emotions that may be driving your experience beneath the surface.   When we're no longer fused with these feelings, we can begin to ask what they might be protecting, what they respond to, and how they have shaped your way of coping.  While anxiety and stress are often experienced as a personal struggle, its effects can touch every part of life — especially with our partners, family, or colleagues. Our work can explore these impacts when its helpful to do so. Life loves a curveball, and the beliefs we hold about ourselves — especially in the face of uncertainty — can deeply influence how we experience those moments. I look forward to how we might soften the landing together.

However, if you choose to rebook, the first session will be billed as part of your ongoing therapy. Committing to continue is not binding. You are not required to commit to a set number of sessions. You have the freedom to decide how best to move forward at any given point. This policy is designed to give you the opportunity to explore whether my approach feels right for you without financial pressure. Exclusions: 1. This offer applies to individual and couples counselling only. Family sessions are not included in this offer due to the additional preparation and planning. 2. Because I work with a small number of client bookings each week - no more than six - availability for new individual and couples' clients under this introductory policy is restricted during times when my caseload is at capacity.
