What if your family had space to reset?
Families come in many forms — blended, single-parent, extended, chosen, cross-cultural — and each carries its own rhythm, stories, and struggles. Some are navigating shifting roles or parenting through change. Others are carrying the quiet pain of disconnection or estrangement. Whether you're navigating parenting, co-parenting, stepfamily dynamics, or ageing parents, what's beneath the surface often asks to be seen.

MY APPROACH
Your family
is my client
My approach to family counselling is steady, inclusive, and systems orientated. Together, we explore parenting relationships. interactional patterns, generational influences, and the roles each member holds.
The family unit is the client. I work with the whole family in your home, or individually with adults in parenting, step-parenting, co-parenting or carer roles.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long will it take to see change?
That depends on what you're hoping to work through. Many clients begin to notice progress — feeling heard, clearer, or more grounded — even within the first few sessions. Lasting change, especially in couples or family work where patterns are shared and long-held, often takes time. While every person's pace is different, meaningful shifts tend to occur somewhere between 8 to 20 sessions. Progress and change are not the same, and therapy is not linear— but when you all stay with the work, change does come.
What approach do you take in family or parenting sessions?
I draw from systemic, narrative, and structural models, depending on what's most helpful for your family's needs. I focus on relationships, roles, and the patterns that shape how family members relate to each other—rather than trying to 'fix' one person. Our goal is to support understanding, connection, and healthier ways of being together.
How is couples or family therapy different to individual therapy?
In individual therapy, we focus on your inner world —your feelings, patterns, and experiences. In couples or family therapy, we explore how relationships shape those experiences. The work often moves between understanding individual needs and making space for shared insight, communication, and repair.
Do all family members attend every session?
Not necessarily. Sometimes we begin with one parent or family member and invite others in when it feels right. We'll work together to decide what's most helpful.
Can we start with one parent or carer before involving others?
Yes. Individual sessions can offer clarity and grounding before involving other family members. This is often a useful place to begin.
What's the difference between family counselling and parenting support?
Parenting support focuses on your experience as a parent or stepparent—often through individual or couple sessions. Family counselling involves working with the family system as a whole, including children when appropriate.
Are family sessions confidential for each person involved?
Confidentiality is respected within the family counselling session, but it works a little differently in family work. Everyone's voice matters, and we'll talk openly about how information is shared so that trust is protected.
