Counselling Support for Anxiety, Stress & Overwhelm

Face-to-face on the Tweed Coast & online across Australia

What if it doesn't
always have to feel so heavy

That's where counselling can help. Anxiety, chronic stress and burnout can leave you feeling trapped in a constant state of tension. In our work together, we start by creating safety and ways to settle your mind and body, so you're not facing these moments alone. From there we explore what's beneath the worry, stress or tension, and develop responses that bring more ease, choice, and self-trust into daily life — both in the calm and the challenging moments.

MY APPROACH

My approach is integrative and relational, shaped by both insight and compassion for your experience of anxiety, stress, or overwhelm. Together we will work with how these experiences have taken shape over time and how they continue to influence your sense of safety, choice, and connection. We begin with safety, supporting the nervous system through grounding, pacing, breath and body awareness, and often CBT-informed strategies. This often includes gently exploring how worry, stress, or overwhelm operates in your life, rather than treating it as who you are. This perspective can reduce self-blame and create space for curiousity, compassion, and understanding. As steadiness develops, we may explore values, choices, internal experiences, and the stories shaping your life, drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and narrative therapies in ways that respect your readiness and what matters to you.

I can help you

  • Create space from unhelpful thought and feeling patterns

  • Recognise what triggers anxiety, stress or burnout

  • Notice and interrupt the patterns that keep these feelings going

  • Develop tools to soothe your nervous system and restore balance

  • Build trust in your ability to cope with uncertainty and change

  • Strengthen your sense of connection and safety in everyday life
